FIFA 12 Demo was released this week, I was much excited to see what it’s gonna look like, It is pretty cool with the new defending system, ‘career mode’ looks impressing as well, lots of things are changed, but one thing EA was consistent with, that was lagging and stutter issue, almost similar to FIFA 11.

First of all I tried setting rendering and MSAA option to lowest from fifaconfig.exe, it did help but stuttering and bit of lag was still very much effective in the game, so I tried same settings with RadeonPro (tool which helped ATI users to fix FIFA 11 stuttering issue) but problem was still there but only slightly effective, game was in somewhat playable condition at this time.

After a bit of digging, I remembered a solution which was recommended last year by Ian Jarvis, adding ‘SCREEN_SLEEP=16′ in rna.ini file, that + setting MSAA and Rendering option to lowest did the job for me… game runs super smooth, but obviously rending is set to low, so quality won’t be that great. But I do hope EA fixes the lag and stutter issue in final release.

Here is the rna.ini file, download and paste it in your ‘game’ folder. Screenshot below.

It works for me(ati 5470), not too sure if it will work with nvidia cards, also you can try setting rendering quality to medium or high, might not sutter for other cards? issue could be coz’ of processor speed or gpu? let me know how you go with it, cheers…..
